From the folks who brought you the “Queer as in Fuck You” Dance Party, it’s the GLAMARAOKE Benefit! Click the link for information about location and time.
Our good friend Ira is very close to the fundraising goal for his top surgery (http://drgarramone.com/tra nsgenderflorida/), and we’re hoping this benefit will put him over the top (so to speak). The proceeds from this totally glam party will be split between Ira and the Rusty Spoke Community Bicycle Collective.
You may be asking yourself, “What makes this party different from all the other glam-themed karaoke parties at community bicycle collectives I’ll be going to this season?” That’s a very good question, and here are the answers:
GLAMARAOKE featuring songs by David Bowie, Joan Jett, Queen, Gary Glitter, Kate Bush, and more!
Glam drinks!
Glam food!
Glam games like Hot Glitter Pickle, Cornhole, and Labyrinth!
Glam raffle prizes!
Glam costume contest for Most Glam, Most Outrageous, Best Hair, and Best Use of Glitter!
Glam fire spinning!
Glam dancing to glam music provided by Clusterfuck and DJ GLOCHIDS!
Glitter so glam it will never wash off!
So break out the Spandex, feather your hair, and get glam!
Entry is five bucks at the door, and everything else is really cheap, so bring lots of cash.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided; no outside alcohol allowed. Bring your ID and plenty of back-up glitter. All ages welcome!
(If you don’t know Ira very well, you should. Check out his writing and videos at http://www.iradaltongray.com/)
Thank you to everybody who has facilitated, helped with, and showed up to our monthly workshops! Generally we hold workshops on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, but this month we’ll be taking a break. Stay tuned for an announcement on our November workshop, which will be a Trans* 101 workshop. Booyah!

Ladies and Trans night is happening at the Rusty Spoke…again! This is a chance for women and trans folks to come in, other than Sunday, and get help with their bikes!
There will be people there to help you so dont be shy about coming in. It is going to be every first Tuesday of the month, so come and invite your women and/or trans friends! You don’t even have to have a bike to work on. You can just come in and learn things or hang out.
